Absolute Pool is the American billiards game with the typical options of this type of game. You obviously have to get all the balls down the pockets, but it's not important which one. What is important is which ball you pot. The balls are numbered from 1 to 8, and you have to pot them in numerical order. There are two types of ball too, one spot, the other striped. You choose one type and your opponent has the other. Potting a ball which isn't yours results in a penalty. the first to pot all their balls in the right order wins.

In Absolute Pool for each ball you pot correctly you score 100 points. For each wrong ball you lose 50 points. If you touch a wrong ball by mistake (and miss your own) then you lose a further ten. The fewer shots you take, the higher your score too. Your aim, clearly, is to score as many points as possible, and to win you have to score more than your opponent. Your opponent can be played by the computer, or you can go online and find opponents from around the world. You can take part in online competitions, and your highest scores can also be published online.

Absolute Pool has graphics which, while not of the very latest generation, are enough for you to enjoy the game and clearly see what you are doing. The program takes up hardly any space and can be downloaded for free.
